Thank you~! The wings have a special harness system that has large wooden "hooks" that the wings slide down onto. The chest piece is made out of fiberglass and the harness system is fused with it. Since it's all one piece, everything stays in place but the wings can be detached by pulling them up and sliding them off. The wings are indeed made out of craft foam but the base of it is constructed out of cardboard.
